Working with glass exhilarates me. I have been creative all my life but when one day I discovered glass it was an instant infatuation and I knew I had finally found my artistic medium.

My work is not only informed and inspired by the world around me but also by the glass making process itself. Kilnforming glass poses an exciting creative challenge: I relish the task of having to predict what will happen to the glass once it is left to its own devices in the heat; how it will move, what obstacles might change its path, how to use gravity and the (sometimes frustating) laws of physics to my creative advantage. It’s a world of endless experimentation and discovery and it is always a thrill to open the kiln and see the fired piece, completely transformed by the intense heat.
